Licences

Fantastic to see our UK clubs back in the Dojo this month. An important reminder that everyone training in the Dojo (and Hombu) MUST have an active licence.

Your licence includes your membership to the EKF - our governing body.

Your licence includes 3rd party insurance. If you are unlicensed you are uninsured to train and you put yourself, other students, and your instructors and club at risk.

Not everyone was able to train during lockdown. If you took a training break (as confirmed by your club instructor) your licence will restart from now.

You can buy a licence on-line now at members.ishinryu.net/buy_licence (no login or password required)

You can also pay your club instructor for a licence BEFORE you train. So, if you have lapsed, remember to also bring your licence payment to the first session you attend.

First Woodlane training session in our Dojo last night, and after an enforced break of 6 months, everything went really well - it was as if we had never been away. A real privilege to be training under sensei Chris Vant again with a group of hardworking students.

Thanks to everyone who attended our first session last night. We are back on Thursday at 7 p.m. and after that, every Monday and Thursday going forward. Guests from other clubs are always welcome, but please let us know in advance if you plan to come (as required under ongoing Covid rules).

Hi everyone!

We hope that everyone is keeping well, active but above all else, SAFE, right now!

There are plenty of ways to keep up with your training while people are following the government’s ruling of STAYING AT HOME.

Our sister club, Cranham Ishinryu, are currently running online classes 3 times a week via ZOOM where you can follow a structured online LIVE CLASS led by Sensei Alan Poole 4th Dan.

If you are interested in joining these classes, head on over to their Facebook page and drop them a message so that they can share the details with you.

Ishin!

Good Afternoon to you all, I hope you are all keeping well and staying safe.
With regards to my recent post regarding training videos, my plan is to create a WhatsApp group, allowing anyone from Woodlane, and across our association to join.
I will then send some training sessions and tips directly to you.
I will be working on the basis that the training works at home, with limited space and no equipment needed.
I will also ask for requests, allowing us as a group to discuss techniques, or problems we may have with a certain move, technique with a view of correcting.
This group is open to all grades and ages, and depending on the response I may divide it, to allow basic and more advanced to benefit.
Please feel free to private message me your number, and on receipt I will add you to the group.

I look forward to hearing from you all soon and let’s get busy training.

Morning all.
I’m looking to post some videos shortly of some easy β€œat home” training techniques.
I’m not normally one to post home or self videos, but I’m aware that some of you are missing the club and training.
Anyone interested in this?
